As the 2020 election season heats up, take a look behind the scenes of four grassroots campaigns at our Film Friday doc screening on Friday, November 22. Knock Down the House, winner of this year's Festival Favorite award at Sundance, follows four women, including now-Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who ran insurgent campaigns for congress in the 2018 midterm elections. The women come from states across the country - New York, Nevada, Missouri, West Virginia - and are motivated by different issues. The film follows their campaigns and explores the personal stories that inspired them to run.
After the screening, we'll be joined by Director Rachel Lears to discuss what the filmmaking process was like following these women.
