Columbia Business School's "Advanced Projects and Applied Research in Fintech" is pleased to announce our new BookIQ Series, featuring book launches on a variety of topics in economics, finance, and technology. BookIQ events will feature a fireside chat with book authors, influential thought leaders, and award-winning business journalists. Our inaugural program features two back-to-back book launches this November on campus. Our second second book launch will take place on Nov 7 (6:30-8 pm) for "Don't Be Evil: How Big Tech Betrayed Its Founding Principles - and All of Us" by Rana Foroohar (FT and CNN). Rana Foroohar's book examines the rise of "Big Tech," investigates its economic impact and influence on society, and provides a roadmap to lessen the negative consequences of Big Tech while still promoting technological innovation. The first book launch will be held on Nov 6 (6:30-8 pm) for "The Man Who Solved the Market: How Jim Simons Launched the Quant Revolution" by Gregory Zuckerman (WSJ), which is the story of a pioneering mathematician, codebreaker, and quant fund manager who, for decades, has consistently posted top returns with his fund, Renaissance Technologies.
