Please join the Institute of African Studies for the first installment of this year’s African Philosophy Series, a lecture by Michael Mburu (Duquesne University)on the legacy of Henry Odera Oruka, introduced and moderate by Kai Kresse (Columbia University, MESAAS). This event will be followed up later this semester with lectures by Karin Barber on “Local Intellectuals in Nigeria” (Nov. 15) and Gail Presbey on “African Sage Philosophy” (Dec. 6).
