On November 3 and 4, 2017, an international conference 'Two Revolutions and Beyond' will take place at Butler Library, Room 203. Organized by the Bakhmeteff Archive of Russian and East European History and Culture of Columbia University and the Columbia University Department of Slavic Languages, and sponsored by the Harriman Institute and University Seminars, the conference will open a broad discussion on the global influence of the two Russian Revolutions (February and October 1917) on the one hand, and start a series of events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the two revolutions. On November 2, the Rare Book and Manuscript Library will host a reception coincided with the conference opening and the exhibition “Actors and Perpetrators” (Butler Library, RBML, Kemptner Gallery, 6th Floor East, 6p.m. to 8 p.m.).
