Teachers College Columbia University, 525 W. 120 St., New York, NY 10027 Grace Dodge Hall, Room 179
Groups will convene in several cities to hear Sandy Baum and Michael McPherson, co-editors of the Fall 2019 issue of Dædalus, discuss the importance of high-quality educational experiences for every college student, and the impact these experiences can make on their future. After streaming brief opening remarks from Baum and McPherson in Cambridge, Mass., attendees in New York will join in a live conversation with Thomas Bailey and Clive Belfield, authors of the Dædalus essay, “The False Dichotomy between Academic Learning & Occupational Skills.” The discussion will focus on the differences between academic and vocational program goals and the false disparity that these separate tracks create.
