This year's Merton Lecture, “The Fellowship of the Word,” will be delivered by Roisin Carty, dialect coach from such films as Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Wonder Woman, and Spectre. It will explore the differences between the written and spoken word, highlighting Thomas Merton’s love of language. A reception will be held following the lecture and feature a special Hobbit-themed menu by chef John Krall. The evening is presented by Columbia Catholic Ministry and the Hugh J. and Catherine R. Kelly Endowment.
