Join us for a live music and illustrated presentation highlighting Duke Ellington's musical self-portraits and his portraits of people he admired--many of whom were black women. Ellington composed several of these works just prior to Matisse’s visit to Harlem in 1930-31; they could well have been among the works the French artist heard while here.
