In times of uncertainty and with increased attacks against academics and activists, we need to prepare for contingencies. In this tutorial we will go over the recommendations of the DIY Guide to Feminist Cybersecurity. You will learn some basic techniques on: how to protect your data, protect yourself from hacking, what it means to remain truly anonymous, how to do it and more. The session will be followed by a Q&A discussion to address individual concerns. This event is part of Columbia University Library's Open Access Week event, "Opening Up Research for the Greater Good? Ethics, Privacy, and Data" and will be followed by a panel and roundtable discussion at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at 4pm.
