Allan Rosenfield Building, 722 W. 168 St., New York, NY 10032 8th Floor Auditorium
Join us for How long has this been going on? The Opioid Epidemic in Context with Donald S. Burke, MD, Distinguished University Professor of Health Science and Policy, Jonas Salk Chair in Population Health, University of Pittsburgh and Sara Abiola, PhD, JD, Assistant Professor Health Policy and Management, Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health. Lunch will be provided. The Chronic Disease Seminar series focuses on one of today's greatest public health challenges: the global epidemic of chronic diseases, including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and the pandemic of obesity. To foster discussion and innovation across the Mailman community on key questions such as the role of prevention and health preservation, how to reduce disparities, determining which policies and interventions will be most impactful and at what points in the life-course, and how to set goals and measure progress, the School offers talks by thought leaders outside of and among the Mailman School faculty.
